It's spring out there!

Hola!
It has been quite a while since I last posted here, but better late than never, right?

There has been a lot going on lately - work, looking for a school to apply in autumn, planning to go to Finland for the summer to earn money for school and so on. Many changes are coming, but I know that I’ll have my family and close friends there to support me.
So, what has been going on in my wardrobe?

I found some cool videos from youtube.com where they give tips how to freshen up your T-shirts. It is easy and really fun to do. Those re-made T-shirts can be used with shorts to get a casual look, or worn with a skirt and then adding some accessories to make it more formal (I would even go to a concert with an outfit like that).

I took some pictures with this formal look and I could say that I’m quite satisfied [=)]

Special thanks to my daddy who took the pictures.

Clothes I'm wearing : Blouse from my brother's closet. He didn't like it so I thought to try give it a new face. Skirt, which I have had for ages, got it from a recycling shop. Ballerinas and a jacket I got from my Granny. I added golden buttons to the jacket to freshen it up a bit.
This is one video where I got inspiration for the T-shirt : Cut up the back of Your T-shirt

Let me know what You think,

" Put off your imagination, as you put off your overcoat, when you enter the laboratory. Put it on again, as you put on your overcoat, when you leave. "
Claude Bernard

Something I made a year ago. It was actually simple work, but now I feel warm and special in this cute black coat.  When tailoring the coat I was inspired of the national dress of the county in Estonia called Viljandi. Unfortunately I couldn't find good picture to put it up on here, but if you really wanna see the dress you can google it. :)

About the coat.... Originally it was too long and too fusty for me (I can be a bit sniffy when it is about clothing). So I shortened the coat. Removed the furry neckpiece. Wanted to add some golden details so buttons seemed perfect. Have always loved the black-and-red harmony so I decided to add details made of red cotton yarn. I did not have sewing machine back then so everything had to be made manually (actually I had one but it was broken).  I like the idea that my little love is not too eye-catching but still it is different.

"Keep a green tree in your heart and perhaps a songbird will come."
 Chinese proverb

Hey my lovely butterflies!

I am a girl from Europe trying to find the meaning of life (sounded pretty dramatically, didn't it). I love wearing my own (re)made clothes and showing up in them. I am too lazy to do clothes from beginning, though, so remaking clothes has become like an addiction for me.
What do I like about recycling clothes? First of all I can be sure that no one has the exact same item.
Sometimes old jeans, blouses etc. may lay unhappily on the floor waiting for me to get "the vision". On the other hand , though, some of them  find their way into my thoughts a lot quicker.   Everything finds a way to it's happily ever after...until they have been worn to their dignified end.

My up coming post will be about the recycled items that I have already made and will continue to make. Hope you will get inspired by my creation to brighten your own look or just have the pleasure of reading about my experiments.

Truly yours,
Susie
